The blue nasi kerabu

  Kembang Telang Flower

Why the color of nasi kerabu is blue? Does it because of the color additives? The truth is it is because of the blue flower, Kembang Telang (Clitoria ternatea) where people cook the rice using this flower. This flower can easily found because its a grow wild flower. Kembang Telang used as a blue color additive for nasi kerabu because it has bdark strong blue petals. This flower will produce blue clolor when it is cooked with rice even only 4-5 buds been put in. It is believed safe to use because it is an organic flower where its is rarely been sprayed with poison and get attacked by pest insect.
